The Upper Provo is what's known as a freestone river, meaning there are no man-made dams that manage the flow of water.
Victory Ranch's river restoration efforts are intended to enhance the Upper Provo River's ecosystem by preserving and restoring existing habitats and introducing new ones to create a healthier diversity of species. Approved by the Utah Department of Wildlife, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, our plans include creating a series of ponds that will give fish a place to live during the winter and summer. And that's not all. We have also removed over 100 years-worth of barbed wire fences to protect wildlife. A new trail system and anglers' stations will make it easier for members to access the river while also protecting the surrounding habitats. |
